I can see some blending issues on the ground but the rest, especially the planet is badass. I love the rings and the texture m8!

Hey dude.... Great job with the sky and the planet...

but i'm not so convinced about the snowy landscape.. the mountains and where they connect to the snowy plane look great... but the number of layers that makes up the plane... doesn't convince me here... if it were larger it'd stand out even more to me...

I'm sure you group the sky and the planet and everything I'd flatten them.... and put more work into the snow... its kindof merging a number of landscape images with a sky... the sky is the most important part to make it believable only because the colors change so slowly.. this is the oposite... the snow is the smoothest color differences so it will be noticed First... if I do a landscape pano... and the sky doesn't fade correctly... it just about destroys the image.. taking the focus off the beautiful landscape...

I'd suggest doing the snow and mountains with a few darken/lighten layers, AND/or using a zig-zagging edge (more zigs and zags with a semi soft brush, turning harder and harder as you move away and up to the mountains) in order to mimic the landscape...

Good work mate, the white ring looks really cool :D

The city seems a bit too small for me in context to the piece, but this is good work :)

10000x10000 size textures? Wish my computer could handle that.

Love the planet. If you saw a planet that close to you, I'd always figure it would be glowing white hurdling at a thousand miles a second to your inevitable doom. Hopefully they know that in the scene. :p

How did u do the nebula and the mountains?
Reply
:icondemosthenesvoice:
DemosthenesVoice Featured By Owner Aug 6, 2008
the nebulas are all pictures of clouds overylayed on eachother using different blending options, and the mountains are a combination of three landscape stock images from *night-fate-stock
