I like the colors of the background and the composition, but the planet and the clouds are way too bright to be honest. Good job though.

thanks man. and yes, i was having a hell of a time trying to blend the clouds/planet. any tips on how to fix it?

hm, I think the whole scene is a bit weird. The sky tells me it is nighttime, but the clouds and the planet are lit and very bright. You have to chose whether you want a day or a night sky. The planet where the viewer is standing doesn't seem to have a proper atmopshere, at least if you decide for a day-scene. I think the planet should blend with the sky like this: [link]
